Client called us in to see if we could install screens to link up to their servers to display work documentation for meeting and employee use, we were asked to install HDMI outlets in the main board rooms to link laptops, so visual displays can be seen on the big screen for training and large meetings. Whilst on site we also mentioned we could include Freeview to all tv’s by installing a new aerial system to the building externally. We also noticed they were using small radios and Bluetooth speakers, so we suggested a multiroom audio with wall mounted speakers in different areas, so different levels of audio could be achieved. This quote was accepted and the job is now complete.

WHAT WAS REQUESTED
WORK UNDERTAKEN
First of all we had to work over the weekend when staff were not working as electrical works needed to be completed for new extra plug sockets to be installed for the tv’s. Second of all we cabled all speaker, coax and data cables back to the main server room where all the data systems were situated. Then we installed a new 4G digital aerial externally to the wall on a 20ft aluminium mast as the signal was very bad due to high buildings around the offices. This worked exceptionally well and provided a great signal from the Sutton Coldfield tv transmitter. All data cables were terminated into patch panels then hardwired to the existing network switch. We added 4 Sonos connect amps for the Q acoustic wall mounted speakers, the Sonos amps were used so the customer could listen to different audio in each office or break room, all connected via Spotify or tune in radio. The TVs we’re fitted with Sanus wall mounts either flat wall or scissor canter lever brackets for a neat clean finish. Where TVs were installed we ran a HDMI 4k lead from the dado trunking to the tv leaving a HDMI outlet socket in the trunking so laptops can also be connected. In the meeting room we installed HDMI socket to the underside of the main meeting table so no cables were hanging across the table to the tv.
THE OUTCOME
11 new screens were installed so the office staff can now see what bookings are being made, stocks are displayed on screens for other purposes and the breakout area can now be a relaxed environment for watching tv or listening to music. Last but not least no more radio or bluetooth speakers dotted about on desks and furniture, now everyone can work within with clear and crisp sound across all the working office space.
